Paul Leach entered self-employment at 18 as a painter and decorator, settling in rural Wales in 1972. He restored a derelict farmhouse and worked as a cabinetmaker and antique restorer. After saving his own derelict Georgian townhouse from the threat of demolition (subsequently listed grade II), Paul became a building contractor (3-10 employees), building low-energy/passive solar houses to his own design, plus numerous conversion and refurbishment projects. He recycled himself as an Architect by attending Manchester and Oxford Schools of Architecture, gaining a B.A.Honours Degree, and Diplomas in Architecture and Energy Efficient Building . Since completing professional practice exams Paul has spent two years as project Architect in commercial sector practice, running two substantial £1m contracts, and can now offer green design and sustainable building solutions based on practical experience.
