ABERGORKY HALL
A redevelopment project for a Community Hall to provide expanded accommodation for a range of local sports and arts groups with a multi-purpose hall and social facilities. The original hall, built in 1915, was financed by the miners penny fund in the days when coal was king. Our design paid homage to the original building with the reconstruction of one of the frontage towers, whilst the new atrium entrance creates a buffer zone orientated to facilitate passive heating and ventilation; part of a sustainable design strategy with the use of alternative energy systems and environmentally friendly materials.
